About Roy
Roy is a special counsel in our Energy, Resources and Infrastructure group.He focuses on complex infrastructure assets through all stages of the asset lifecycle. Roy has extensive experience working across energy and resources, mining, aviation and rail, including 15 years in-house, with particular experience in the delivery and operation of infrastructure projects, management of JVs and M&A transactions to acquire or divest infrastructure assets. He has advised a diverse range of large and complex organisations across Australia, Canada and Indonesia.
Roy is also a Fellow of The Chartered Governance Institute, having completed the Corporate Governance Institute’s Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance.

Ausgrid and Endeavour Energy on developing and implementing community battery projects, including negotiating battery tolling agreements and procurement agreements with OEMs.
EDF and Itochu on their bid to provide BHP with solar, wind and battery assets to help BHP decarbonise its WA iron ore operations.
Elecnor on a range of issues arising from insolvency of its joint venture for Projects EnergyConnect, the interconnector between SA and NSW, including under the JVA and under the EPC Contract.
Engie on its bid for Spark Renewables, including undertaking due diligence on Spark Renewable’s existing assets and its pipeline of solar, wind and battery projects.
Tetris Capital on its bid to deliver the new Melton Hospital, focusing on negotiations with the State and the D&C Contractor regarding the D&C Contract (and related changes to the Project Deed).
X-Elio, a Brookfield subsidiary, on developing a solar farm in NSW, including negotiating the EPC Contract and the BOOM Contract for the substation.
Sibanye and APD (a Coca-Cola subsidiary) on royalty disputes concerning projects in Queensland.
BHP (as in-house counsel) on assets in Indonesia, Canada and across Australia, on major projects, M&A, JVs, rail and port infrastructure access and pricing, contracting, procurement, disputes and regulatory compliance.
Brisbane Airport Corporation (as in-house counsel) on its aeronautical, commercial property development, retailing leasing and landside transport businesses.
Viva Energy (as in-house counsel) on the infrastructure, supply and distribution parts of its business, particularly regarding quasi-monopoly infrastructure.
Metro Trains Melbourne (as in-house counsel) on delivering the Melbourne Airport Rail and Metro Tunnel Projects, including negotiating and implementing Alliance Agreements and PPPs.
