Stuart Cormack

Biography

Stuart is a partner in our Banking and Finance group.

He is a trusted advisor to private equity sponsors, corporates and bank and non-bank lender clients who look to him on their most important transactions due to his market knowledge, commercial approach and ability to structure and execute on complex transactions. He is known in the market for his ability to ‘get the deal done’ - whatever that may take.

He is our capital markets sector co-lead and has experience across a broad range of areas in banking and finance including real estate finance, acquisition and leveraged finance, general corporate finance, infrastructure finance and debt restructuring.

Experience

Stuart’s experience includes advising:

  • The Mandated Lead Arrangers, Underwriters and Bookrunners and lenders in relation to AirTrunk’s A$4.6 billion Sustainability Linked Loan facilities, the largest Sustainability Linked Loan for a data centre globally.

  • Various lenders in connection with the debt financing for Blackstone’s c. $8.9 billion acquisition of the shares in the Crown Resorts Group by way of scheme of arrangement.

  • KKR in relation to its A$2 billion US Term Loan B financing in relation to its acquisition of 55% of Colonial First State from CBA.

  • The Mandated Lead Arrangers, Underwriters and Bookrunners and other lenders on the A$1.45 billion financing for Blackstone’s Australian Core Property portfolio of 84 Australian logistics properties.

  • The Mandated Lead Arrangers, Underwriters and Bookrunners and other lenders in relation to the A$450 million financing for Star Entertainment Group.

  • CDC Data Centres on the A$2.7 billion refinancing and upsizing of its debt facilities and it’s A$308 million US Private Placement issuance.

  • The Mandated Lead Arrangers, Underwriters and Bookrunners and other lenders in relation to the A$1.5 billion financing for Brookfield owned Aveo Retirement.

  • The Mandated Lead Arrangers, Underwriters and Bookrunners and other lenders on the A$2.4 billion acquisition financing for ESR in relation to the 45 property Milestone Logistics Portfolio.

  • Alinta Energy in relation to various financing matters, including the refinancing of its A$1.4 billion bank debt facilities, its A$130 million institutional debt facilities and its A$95 million USPP issuances.

  • The bank and debt investor syndicates in relation to the A$1.6 billion refinancing in respect of the Sydney Desalination Plant including an institutional samurai loan.

  • The syndicate of lenders on the A$950 million refinancing of Port of Newcastle’s syndicated debt facilities, including a new innovative green loan and sustainability linked loan structure.

  • Macquarie Asset Management and its managed funds in relation to the Term Loan B facilities to fund its A$2.3 billion public to private acquisition of Bingo Industries Limited.
