Lucy Hall

Biography

Lucy is a Special Counsel in our Corporate Advisory group.

An ECM specialist of more than 15 years, Lucy has extensive experience advising issuers and underwriters on initial public offerings and secondary capital raisings. She has advised blue chip ASX-listed companies as well as all major investment banks operating in Australia. Lucy has been involved in some of the most high-profile, novel, and largest capital raisings in Australia.  

Lucy also advises companies, shareholders and Boards on general corporate and securities law issues, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions. Lucy also regularly advises companies on their employee incentive schemes.  

She has been recognised by The Best Lawyers Australia in 2025 in the categories of Equity Capital Markets and Corporate Law and in 2023 and 2024 in the category of Corporate Law. 

Lucy was a finalist in the category of Special Counsel of the Year at the 2024 Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards.  

Lucy holds an LLB (Hons) BA (International Studies) and was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of NSW.

Lucy’s experience includes advising:

  • Guzman y Gomez on its $3 billion IPO and ASX listing. 

  • Sigma Healthcare on its $8.8b reverse takeover of Chemist Warehouse.  

  • Pepper Money on its $500 million IPO and ASX listing. 

  • Cashrewards on its $148 million IPO and ASX listing. 

  • CleanSpace Holdings on its $340 million IPO and ASX listing. 

  • Yancoal Australia, an ASX listed company, on the first ever dual primary listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and associated initial public offering (which also involved the use of an Australian rights issue), in November 2018. 

  • RBC Capital Markets and UBS Securities Australia as underwriters of Atlas Arteria’s $3.1 billion capital raise to acquire a majority interest in the Chicago Skyway. 

  • Morgan Stanley and Barrenjoey in relation to APA Group’s $675 million ‘pro rata’ placement to partly fund the acquisition of Alinta Energy’s Pilbara assets. 

  • Bank of America, Bell Potter and Morgan Stanley on the $264 million placement for Nickel Industries. 

  • J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley and CICC, the joint lead managers to Yancoal Australia’s US$2.5 billion entitlement offer and placement to fund Yancoal’s acquisition of Coal & Allied from Rio Tinto.
