Biography

Georgina is a special counsel in our Corporate Advisory group with a focus on financial services, fintech and web3.

She has a broad client base advising Australian and offshore businesses on matters relating to financial services, consumer credit and anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regulation.

Her relevant experience includes advising across a number of established financial services firms, fintech offerings and digital platforms as well as engaging with up-and-coming markets in the digital assets sector. Her expertise covers decentralised finance, digital currency exchanges, digital wallets, cryptocurrencies, stored value and payments, retail and wholesale funds and custody.

Experience

Georgina’s experience includes advising:

  • KKR on financial services aspects of its $2 billion acquisition of Perpetual Wealth and Perpetual Corporate Trust.

  • Mitsubishi UFJ Trust on financial services aspects of its $2.1 billion acquisition of Link.

  • Antipodes on financial services and funds management aspects its acquisition of Maple-Brown Abbott.

  • Wpay, Woolworths' digital payments acquiring arm, on various payments offerings.

  • Weel, MYOB, Visa and CBA on payments solutions.

  • MHC Carnegie on the establishment of digital asset retail schemes.

  • Various fund managers and advisors on financial services activities in Australia including Blackstone, Southern Cross, Blackbird, Allegro, Quadrant and Brandon Capital.
