Gail Christopher

Biography

Gail leads our Banking group and is a member of our Board.

With over 20 years of experience in debt markets, Gail is a market leader in complex acquisition and leveraged financings (including senior bank, unitranche, cov-lite and TLB financings), corporate financings, special situations, post-IPO facilities, investment grade loans, recapitalisations and other secured and unsecured lending transactions.

She acts for a range of domestic and international clients across the capital structure, including large cap and mid-market private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies, domestic and international banks, investment banks, private credit funds and ASX listed and other major corporates.

An experienced, highly respected and well-connected practitioner, Gail has led the financing on some of the largest and most complex LBOs and acquisitions in the Australian market. Gail is highly sought after for her strong technical expertise, commerciality, deep industry know-how, responsiveness and ease of doing business. She also maintains a thriving corporate finance practice, advising ASX listed and other major corporates on some of the most significant and high-profile transactions in the Australian market.

Gail’s experience includes advising:

  • APM in relation to its A$1.2 billion Social Loan linked corporate debt facility – the first Social Loan linked corporate debt facility in Australia.

  • Anchorage Capital Partners on its acquisition of EL&F – acquisition facilities and warehouse financing.

  • Bain Capital on the $959 million scheme of arrangement acquisition of Estia Health.

  • RØDE Microphones on the acquisition of Mackie and on the global refinance of its debt facilities.

  • Pacific Equity Partners on its acquisition of ATOM Group and its scheme of arrangement acquisition of Healthia.

  • The financiers in relation to the financing for ICG's acquisition of Cura Day Hospitals.

  • Anchorage Capital Partners in relation to financing of its acquisition of David Jones.

  • The financiers in relation to senior facilities provided to Adamantem Capital for its acquisition of Retail Zoo.

  • Liverpool Partners in connection with its acquisitions of Genea and Adora.
