Crispian Lynch

Biography

Crispian is a partner in our Disputes and Investigations group and a member of our Board.

He is known for resolving significant and complex disputes with a commercial and strategic approach. He has been involved in some of Australia’s largest commercial disputes and has extensive experience in litigation, class actions, arbitrations, mediations and contentious insolvency matters across a broad range of sectors. He also advises on complex broadcasting services matters for numerous clients.

Experience

Crispian’s experience includes advising:

  • Credit Suisse on prosecuting claims for over US$2 billion related to Greensill's collapse.

  • Downer EDI, Vocation and RiverCity Motorway as defence  in securities class actions.

  • Gina Rinehart as defence in arbitrations worth over $20 billion.

  • Toyota Motor Corporation on its class action judgment.

  • RiverCity for a $280 million settlement following proceedings against AECOM.

  • Lowe’s for a $250 million outcome in disputes concerning the Masters Home Improvement joint venture.

  • BrisConnections for a $121 million settlement following proceedings against Arup.

  • CBA as a representative in numerous, large investigations and proceedings.

  • Reliance Rail on a judgment in connection with a $2 billion restructure.

  • Brett Blundy, BBRC and Honey Birdette on judgments in oppression proceedings.

  • Nine on judgments in defending proceedings brought by WIN and by Seven / C7.

  • Bank of Queensland, Discovery Metals and Queensland Energy on class actions, acting in various contradictor roles.
