She specialises in the mining and resources sectors and land access. Claire has over 25 years’ experience advising on all aspects of mining, energy and resources projects from acquisition, structuring, development to the on-going operation and then divestment of projects. Claire has particular expertise with farm-in arrangements and joint ventures, two of the most commonly used structures for mining assets in Australia. Claire has worked on projects across all commodities and all States and Territories in Australia.
Claire also provides advice on regulatory compliance, approvals, tenure and land access matters. Claire has considerable experience with both mining and Crown land tenure, including State Agreements, and regularly assists clients with complex tenure and land access issues.
Claire is a member of The Energy and Resources Law Association (formerly AMPLA) and was involved in the development of the AMPLA model production joint venture agreement, the model framework royalty deed and the model access agreements for Western Australia. Claire is also a member of the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC) and sits on both the Mining Legislation Committee and the Corporate Regulation & Taxation Committee.
