Ben Fuller

Biography

Ben is a partner in our Real Estate and Projects group and head of our Environment and Planning practice.

His specialisation includes advising on all aspects of environmental impact assessments and approvals strategy, contaminated land, planning and environmental advice and litigation, submissions and stakeholder engagement, waste regulatory framework, regulatory investigations and compliance, director and parent company liability, land access rights, due diligence and compulsory acquisition.

Ben also advises corporate and government clients on the development of complex projects in a wide variety of sectors across Australia.

Experience

Ben’s experience includes advising:

  • Cleanaway on its acquisition of Suez’s Australian waste assets and planning and environmental approvals strategy for its NSW Waste Facilities.

  • Neptune Energy on environmental and decommissioning risks associated with offshore oil and gas projects in Australia.

  • FERA Australia on planning and environmental approvals strategy for its 700MW Seymour Wind Farm. 

  • Norsk Hydro ASA in relation to remediation, rezoning, redevelopment and divestment of its former Aluminium Smelter at Kurri Kurri, NSW.

  • Bingo Industries on waste regulatory framework issues, and planning and environmental approvals strategy for its NSW and Queensland Waste Facilities.

  • BlueScope Steel on regulator investigations of pollution incidents and Ports Master Planning Project.

  • Health Infrastructure NSW on planning and environmental approvals for $800 Liverpool Hospital Redevelopment.

  • GrainCorp on $350m sale of its Australian Bulk Liquid Terminals business to ANZ Terminals Pty Ltd and regulator investigations of contamination issues at its port facilities across Australia.

  • Macquarie Group on planning and environmental approvals for its Metro Martin Place Project.

  • Ausgrid on planning and environmental approvals strategy for its electricity distribution projects.

  • Orica on contamination risks arising from the $750 million sale of its chemicals business in Australia.
