Gilbert + Tobin is delighted to announce that leading Perth-based banking and finance firm Wright Legal will be integrated into its Perth practice with effect from 1 April 2024.

Founded in 2001 by former Freehills partner Paul Wright, and now managed by Trish Chapman and Dom McGreal , Wright Legal is the leading boutique banking and finance practice in Western Australia.

Wright Legal has been the recipient of a multitude of industry awards, with Trish and Dom routinely ranked among the leading practitioners in their respective fields both in Western Australia and nationally.

Together with the recent appointment of Clare Pope and George Varma as partners, the addition of the Wright Legal practice will substantially bolster the capacity of Gilbert + Tobin’s Perth office to deliver a comprehensive range of legal services to its clients, with a particular focus on the Energy + Infrastructure and Metals + Mining sectors.

G+T Founder and Chairman, Danny Gilbert, commented:

Trish and Dom have joined forces with Gilbert + Tobin as partners of the firm in Perth.

Trish and Dom have built Wright Legal into the leading independent banking and finance practice in Western Australia. These are all characteristics we value highly at Gilbert + Tobin.

Our partner numbers in Western Australia have increased by over 60% in the last three years, a sign of our commitment to this important and rapidly growing market.”

Wright Legal principal Trish Chapman said:

“Given the growth of the Wright Legal practice and the tremendous opportunities we believe lie ahead, combining with Gilbert + Tobin makes perfect sense.

Most importantly, it provides Wright Legal’s clients with continuity of the same excellent service but adds access to a broader range of expertise to meet their legal and commercial needs.

Having worked alongside Gilbert + Tobin on many deals in Western Australia, we found we share a similar approach to legal practice: we deliver innovative, solutions-focused and value for money advice and place our clients at the absolute centre of everything we do."
