Gilbert + Tobin is delighted to welcome new partner Susannah Macknay to the M+A/Corporate team in Melbourne. Susannah specialises in mergers and acquisitions and equity capital markets transactions for corporate and private equity clients.  She also has deep experience in advising listed companies on corporate governance matters and responding to shareholder activism campaigns.

Susannah returns to Australia from the London office of Slaughter and May, one of the world’s pre-eminent corporate law firms. Susannah had been a partner at Slaughter and May from 2014.  Her practice focuses on public and private M+A, with particular experience in cross-border transactions and the financial services and telecommunications sectors. 

Susannah’s recent experience includes advising Vodafone Group plc on the €19 billion acquisition of Liberty Global’s businesses in Germany and CEE, the largest telecommunications deal in Europe for a decade, and advising Prudential plc on the demerger of M&G plc to create two FTSE 100 companies.
