Gilbert + Tobin has advised West African Resources Limited (ASX:WAF) (West African) on its approximately A$150 million placement (Placement).

West African is an emerging mid-tier gold producer, focused on the development of its Sandbrado Gold Mine, Kiaka Gold Project and Toega Gold Deposit in Burkina Faso. 

The Placement will support development activities at the Kiaka Gold Project, which West African expects to be a long-life, low-cost project. The Placement proceeds will be primarily used to purchase owner mining fleet, establish owner mining workshop facilities and purchase exploration drill rigs, utilising mining pre-production capital at our Kiaka Gold Project.
