Gilbert + Tobin has advised Australian private equity firm Five V Capital on the formation and closing of its fourth fund, comprising of $550m in capital commitments. The oversubscribed Fund received strong interest from both Australian and international investors and hit its hard cap on first closing. The Fund was backed by a suite of Five V Capital’s existing investors, as well as new global institutional fund of fund investors.

The G+T team was led by Investment Funds senior lawyer Judy Hsu, with support from lawyers Sam Kaelin, Jackson Martin and Catrina Chen.

Judy said: “It has been a pleasure to work with Five V Capital since their first fund. We have seen Five V’s funds under management and investor base grow to more than $1.1 billion since inception. In addition, the investor base now includes prominent global fund of fund investors, which is a testament to Five V Capital’s performance in the past few years.”
